The Mission Statement of the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council is to “The Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council is a leading international organisation that enhances collaboration in the water supply and sanitation sector to accelerate the achievement of sustainable water, sanitation and waste management services to all people, with special attention to the unserved poor, by enhancing collaboration among developing countries and external support agencies and through concerted action programmes.”

The mission of the Global Water Partnership is to "support countries in the sustainable management of their water resources”. It aims to: clearly establish the principles of sustainable water resources management; identify gaps and stimulate partners to meet critical needs within their available human and financial resources,
Support action at the local, national, regional or riverbasin level that follows principles of sustainable water resources management, and to help match needs to available resources.

‘The International Water Management Institute is a nonprofit scientific research organization focusing on the sustainable use of water and land resources in agriculture and on the water needs of developing countries. IWMI works with partners in the South to develop tools and methods to help these countries eradicate poverty through more effective management of their water and land resources.’
